On Passion: A #TakeHome on Communication & Public Speaking

Communication & Public Speaking.

The above photo has a direct link of the slides or presentation I used recently in delivering a talk about one of my passion.

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher. I opt to act as a teacher and gather younger kids in my place to be my students. And yes I enjoyed it. But I have this funny reason why I wanted to be a teacher… back in Elementary school I studied in a public school where in every time there is a periodical test, examiners are given a snacks. Most of the time a sandwich plus a bottle of softdrinks! Seeing it with the eyes of a kid at around 6 or 7 years old was such a treat!!! lol (Hahaha)

But this blog post is not about more revelations of me being a teacher. :)

It is about me, having that passion to impart knowledge and information. To be in front, deliver contents, share knowledge and be on stage. Whether its teaching, hosting/emceeing or a public speaking – I found myself fond of it. I have to admit though I have never been into contests such as impromptu speaking or extemporaneous speech. I on the other hand is more of the one being the master of the ceremony!

Last Friday (23.06.2017), I’ve been given the privileged to deliver a talk about Communication & Public Speaking and with all my heart, I’ve accepted this opportunity given by my former SFL Servant, Ate Amie. For 8 years in the community, it’s my first time to deliver this topic. I have attended this teaching once (as far as I remember) and yet I was not part of the workshop proper as they have exempted me for some reasons.

As a speaker, preparing the talk itself brought me joy. It is a pleasure reading, researching, checking out videos and practicing it. Creating the presentation as well is a journey that I love.

The Take Home

I would like to share own take home (lesson learned) for this talk. Aside from all the information being shared which will be self-explainatory once you check out the slide, is the fact that if you enjoy what you are doing a task or a challenge will never be difficult.

Of course it wasn’t a perfect presentation, I’m a work in progress too!
Nevertheless, I am satisfied with its outcome, because I know God is with me. I do hope that the participants also had their sets of lesson learned in that teaching. Above all, what I really want to impart is:

When we are given the chance to do something, a service – may it be for our family, friends, community and most especially for God, make sure you get reminded with this very special verse from 1 Corinthians 16:14.

Let us put and spread love in all we do and for sure, He will lead us the way!

If you missed the above link, check it once again here.

God bless!!!
