The Creative Passport book is my first ever officially published book! And as I release it to the world, I frequently get these questions:
- WHAT IS THE BOOK ALL ABOUT?
- HOW DID YOU COME-UP WITH IT?
- IS THERE AN E-BOOK?
- HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE AN AUTHOR/WRITER?
- WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR BOOK?

1. WHAT IS THE BOOK ALL ABOUT?
This book covers 12 topics (chapters), each corresponding to a month. In January, we delve into Passion Projects, exploring them through readings and related activities. There is Faith, Relationships, Creativity, Work and more. Each month brings a new topic to engage with and enjoy. Every month is a new topic, followed by a few creative activities as a call to action to what you have learned. There will be activity sheets, habit trackers, calendar and a few pages for journaling.
2. HOW DID YOU COME-UP WITH IT?
I was on an airplane while listening to a podcast from Marie Forleo, asking what would I do if I know that whatever I choose to do I will not fail? It was an interactive audio where I rushed myself to jot down all the dreams, goals, visions I had. One of them was to write a book and officially become an author. I’m a big fan of workbooks/diaries/notepads so the thought of having my own and putting words into it captured my interest. So I grabbed my notes and drafted ideas, brainstormed and came up with 12 topics representing the months. A year later (2019), this book was ready. Although it took me 5 years to have finally released it; life took over, COVID came and priority just changed. I remember my favorite book from Elizabeth Gilbert BIG MAGIC – when she lost a book to another author… But as for my case when I picked it up in 2023 – it still feels right. I can hear God’s call to go ahead. Fast-forward 9-July 2024, here we are, officially published!!! Praise the Lord!
3. IS THERE AN E-BOOK?
Yes, you can check it out here – TCP E-Book
4. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE AN AUTHOR/WRITER?
In awe! A mixed emotions of delight, amazed, happy, fulfilled.
Also a feeling of shyness – Impostor Syndrome came in when I started to see friends buying the book. But nevertheless I stay true to my own purpose and goal on why I publish it….
Background Story:
I think I have shared this earlier but to make it short, I used to be a struggling writer back in my university days, I applied numerous times, submitted poems, essays, write ups to the campus magazine and gets rejected. I have to say though that a few of my write ups also made to a local magazine in Cebu (Zee Lifestyle Magazine). Won a contest in a local newspaper capturing a sentence or 2 of emotions towards F4 in Cebuano and a few published articles from random blogs. Of course, somehow the rejections pushed me to work on this skills. Until now I know I’m not at par to other co-teachers or gifted writers but still I know I have this calling.
True enough I found myself with 3-4 manuscripts – incomplete manuscripts at hand but TCP is the first that I have completed. Looking back, when I finished it I approached traditional publishing companies and found myself in another spiral of rejections since I’m a nobody in the publishing world. But then I discovered the Self-Publishing route… This will be for another b/vlog.
All in all, this experience is an eye-opener. A humbling one. I feel embarassed (maikog) and self-conscious whenever a friend buys it. 🥹🥹🥹 spending their hard-earned money for it.
THANK YOU THANK YOU Creatives!!! You know who you are!!!
Purpose: Get publish and become a legit writer :). Sold books is a bonus! 😉
