Ticking Off a Bucket-list with M2M’s The Better Endings Concert!!!

Don’t say you love me, you don’t even know me … if you really want me then give me some time …

These lyrics have been stuck in my head for the past three months—ever since right before our vacation in May! The moment I saw that teaser video of them together again, I just knew in my heart: I had to see them live. I prayed that Cebu would be included in their tour, and lo and behold—Cebu was announced as the final leg of their Philippine schedule. Thank you, Lord!

Right away, I booked my flight, told my high school besties Gemma and Jackie, and excitedly said, “Get ready—we’re going on a trip down memory lane!” It took me nearly two weeks before May to get all the backend stuff done so I could finally purchase the tickets. I asked Gemma to get them through SM Tickets and boom—3 tickets to M2M’s The Better Endings concert were secured!

I’ve been a fan since way back—I even bought cassette tapes of Shades of Purple and The Big Room. After they disbanded, I didn’t follow their solo careers, because for me, they were always a package deal. 😊 Watching them now, sharing stories of how they came back together, I couldn’t help but wonder if there had been a falling out. I mean, 20 years is a long time to not cross paths unless you intentionally avoid it. But whatever it was, I respect their journey. What matters most—to me and all the fans—is that they’re together again.

In the end, Gemma bought the tickets, Jackie had to opt out, so it was just me, Gemma, and Kokobear. We booked a room at the Waterfront Hotel to make sure we were there on time. That night was electric—the lobby was packed with Millennials, all clearly ready to tick this off their bucket list!

And when the music started… it hit different. I don’t know why, but I got teary-eyed. High school memories flashed before me. The crowd went wild. Seeing Marion and Marit onstage together made my heart race—I screamed along with everyone else! Music really does have that special kind of magic. It brings you back. I stood, I sat, I screamed, I snapped photos and videos, I laughed—I just soaked in every moment. My very first international concert, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

That night overflowed with memories from high school to college. I’m so grateful to Kokobear for supporting me all the way. I lost count of how many songs they performed—maybe 15 or 16? Almost all were familiar, except a few solo tracks. But Pretty Boy hit differently. From that high school crush to the man who’s been with me through all these years (Kokobear)… wow. And of course, Don’t Say You Love Me as the finale—what a blast!

Sharing my vlog soon!

Amping ug Ampo,

God bless!
