Abu Dhabi – The Lourve Museum

The Lourve Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island UAE

How to get there

Basically the easiest way for anyone to get there is by taxi. It took us 10-15 minutes from the city centre going to Saadiyat island where the museum is located. And don’t worry about going back home, there’s a long cue of taxis on site.

Basic Information

Our Experience

Get ready for a 3-4 hours of walking while you go through each and every pieces at the museum. For me it took me back to my college/university days. A concrete & live ideas/concept and artifact of some of the history we took up during my Soc-Sci major days in CNU. It set my mind into that mode appreciating not only history but art. Of course I took a lot of pictures, met Van Gogh, Picasso, Socrates, Napoleon Bonaparte and more. Amazed by the intricacies of the weaving, carving and drawing of ancient civilization. Found commonalities in some of the way of living back then.

If you love art, history and beauty – this place will not disappoint you.

At the end of a long walk and somehow given a pair of eyes back to history, there’s also a mini-treat for kids and those kids at heart. The Museum opened a Manga station underground where you could play a video game, express yourself by writing a few lines in the wall magazine or enjoy a virtual reality trip to the mountain, see or bridge.

Over-all, I had fun my only comment is that among the souvenirs that they had, they haven’t created a Lourve Abu Dhabi (the facade/view itself) magnet yet… There are lots of other options though but personally I’d be happy to have one Lourve AD magnet.

I prefer not to show all of the photographs and videos that I’ve taken, it is better to see it yourself in person and get  new perspective and fresher look into history and arts.

I’m closing this post with this quote that caught my attention on site.

“Perplexity is the beginning of knowledge.”

– Gibran Khalil Gibran
