We will be celebrating it on 1 September here in my country. And I am going to catch with my lost sleep + movie marathon :) Yey! I used to watch Filipino telenovelas, loved them… where can I find them online with English subtitles?
JM Kayne
From where are you Jane?
Really!?! What’s your favorite Filipino telenovela? I used to have one site, but it has been blocked… Will let you know if I find another. Thank you! xoxo

I like the sound of trying out an Arabic restaurant! It’s a good way to surround yourself in the culture, but also eat delicious food. It sounds like a perfect way to spend some down time. Also, sleeping is always a good choice! x
JM Kayne
Yes, indeed food is a way of life, a culture! (y) thank you Leanne! xx

I would love to use the time to get away for a little bit.

Yes! Karaoke is so much fun! I always wanted my own karaoke machine at home, but had to settle for the karaoke boxes :)
Style&LifebySusana (@stylelifesusana)
All of these sound like so much fun! I really want to go to an arabic restaurant one day, the food would be so delicious. Great suggestions here!
Jenny
These are all some great activities you’ve listed! I love movie marathons at home but I definitely recommend Wonder Woman and Spider-Man Homecoming in theaters. Also love the idea of trying out local cuisine. I’ve never had Arabic food before but it sounds like it’d be delicious! No matter what you decide to do, I hope you have a wonderful time!

How interesting is must be to live in a different culture and to truly immerse yourself in it! A movie marathon sounds like a good idea at any time!

I’m always down for getting more sleep, as it’s one of my favorite pastimes :) I am glad you shared this list of free things to do in Abu Dhabi; it’s a potential site for our honeymoon!
JM Kayne
Wow! That nice to hear Candace! You will love it here! :)

This post is so cool to read, I actually like staying at home and do absolutely nothing, or maybe sing karaoke with my kids. I have not had Arabic food before, but I”m sure there is a few in LA I can look up. Happy Holidays!

Very interesting article! I don’t see that many blogs about the middle east, unfortunately… Reading this has a lot of new information for me, so thank you for teaching me some new things I did not know about :)

I usually always go visit my family friends. Its a tradition since I was 7 years old. I no longer live in Dubai and traditions have changed. I just relaxed through the weekend. Eid is usually a good time of the year and best memories.
JM Kayne
Did u live in Dubai Farah? Where do you live now? Yes, it’s usually a family day…

Great post about diversity – here in Mauritius even though there is quite a large Muslim community, Eid is not a holiday. We have too many religions – and the government try to keep everyone happy! – so each community gets one selected day off plus a few national ones — The Muslim holidays are always nice and long in the Middle East!!
