Tax Exemption / OEC alternative for OFW Dependents

It’s been a while since my last write up. Actually this one is short and sweet. Just want to share my experience today when it comes to acquiring TAX EXEMPTION at the Philippine Consulate Dubai.

 

Who can get Tax Exemption

All dependents of an OFW whose visa is under their spouse or parents. Basically it is the alternative of the OEC.

 

What are the Requirements

Simply print out a copy of:

1. Passport (1 front & back)  and Visa of the Sponsor (1)

2. Passport (1 front & back) and Visa of the Dependent

That’s it!

The service is free.

No appointment needed.

But to make sure that there are no changes in the process, WhatsApp the Philippine Consulate (Dubai) on this # +971-564177558 – you can also use that message when the security asks for appointment on site. The security will give you a waiting/transaction # and you can proceed to the Passport Releasing Area.

Wait for your turn. The officer will ask you some basic questions such as:

• Who is the sponsor?
• Who is the dependent?
• When is your flight?
• How many years are you in the UAE? Etc.

Then, s/he will attach this paper for you to fill up, return it to the officer for him/her to affix date /signature etc.  and you’re done! :)
