Fort San Pedro | Cebu 🇵🇭 | #UBEC_Base44App

Fuerte de San Pedro, commonly known as Fort San Pedro, is a military defense structure in Cebu City, built by the Spanish under the command of Miguel López de Legazpi. It is the oldest and smallest triangular bastion fort in the Philippines.

Key Features

  • Triangular Bastion: The fort is uniquely shaped with three bastions: La Concepción (southwest), Ignacio de Loyola (southeast), and San Miguel (north).
  • Historical Timeline: Originally built of wood in 1565, it was replaced with stone in the 1700s to repel invaders. Over the centuries, it served as a garrison for Spanish, American, and Japanese forces.
  • Walled Garden & Museum: Today, the fort houses a museum containing well-preserved Spanish artifacts, documents, and paintings. The inner courtyard features a peaceful walled garden often used for events.
  • Heritage Location: It is situated in the Pier area of the city, right within the Plaza Independencia park.

Practical Information

  • Opening Hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Entrance Fee: As of 2026, the regular fee is PHP 50 for adults and PHP 40 for students and senior citizens.
