How to Renew your Passport in Dubai PCG 2019
How to Renew your Passport in Dubai PCG (Philippines Consulate General) It’s my first time to renew my passport here in Dubai. Dubai has the consulate, while Abu Dhabi has the embassy since it’s the capital of the UAE. Almost the same process applies. Of course, to start with – the most important step is to book for an appointment. Step 1 – Book for an Appointment. Visit this page for booking your appointment: https://dubaipcg.dfa.gov.ph/services/passports/epassport-appointment-system Make sure that you reserve your slot at least 6-10 months before your passport expires as I have noticed that most of the slots are often fully booked. I did mine in April, which surprised…

Hosting Gig @ St. Mary’s Church Dubai
This post is a month late, but still managed to finally publish it. :) *** Sharing a little bit of this extra-ordinary/first time experience. <3 How many times do you get invited into hosting an event in church? Rare! I guess. Mine came, on my birthday month. Originally I was supposed to host the Dress Like Mary Contest on 19 May but it was moved due to minimal participants. Relieved, I was happy that I don’t need to continue it because to be honest I don’t have a hosting experience in church.…

Milk Teas in Dubai
Joining the current fad back in the Philippines, I have made my own quest of #MilkTea is life Dubai version. I scouted Dubai and found some Cafe’s that offers this refreshing and crazy-asian feel milk tea boom! A lil history here. . . WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? Majority would probably trace back MilkTeas started in Taiwan in the’80s. Some debate about who is responsible for the phenomenon. Some believe it that Chef Liu Han Chieh, owner of Chun Shui Tang in the city of Taichung, created it by mixing syrup, milk tea and pieces of fruit. The first time tapioca pearls were said to be added by Tu Tsung…

Dubai – Abra, Gold Suoq, Spices and more!
This blog post is a short photo blog of our recent visit to Dubai Creek’s GRAND SOUQ DIERA (the OLD DUBAI City Centre). It is where we ride the abra (at 1 AED per ride), a boat going to the other end of the souq and been greeted with a big tourist crowd also exploring the market. We found the Gold souq, souvenirs of all sorts, a pretty porcelain and hand crafted design plates, colorful spices, shawls, magnets and all other crafts plus more! It’s actually my second time here, and yet this time, I feel like I belong more than just a tourist from Abu Dhabi. This time I…

Dubai – Emirati Food @ Al Bait Alqadeem R&C
Al Bait Alqadeem Emirati Heritage Restaurant & Cafe, (Near Al Ras Metro Station (Old Dubai) It’s been a decade since I first moved to the UAE, but this will be my first ever authentic Emirati cuisine experience. This has become possible because Kokobear together with John2x (my bro-in-law) and Gladys (his gf) have decided to visit the Gold Souk at Diera (old city in Dubai) today. It was just a simple site-seeing session, riding the Abra, looking around some spices at the Suoq, also souvenirs for John to bring back to Italy and gold hopping! hehe As the night catches us up, we’ve decided to look for a place for…

22 Feb 2019 | Dubai So Far . . .
It’s been a year. Well, technically, 9 months (not counting my 5 months in Cebu)… In this 8 months, our Fridays have always been booked for the community activities and Kokobear’s day off falls on the same day. Thus, it means our time to explore the new city is limited but it hasn’t stop us from enjoying some of its views. We’ve visited a couple of parks, toured the malls: IBN Battuta, Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall. I’ve toured 3 Day-to-Day shops in Rigga, Burjuman and Union. hehehe – that “kuripot” (stingy) in me still love going to this type of shop. And of course, we’ve…

HomeCycle Dubai – RECYCLING plastic bottles made easy!
* * * I recently saw a Facebook post regarding plastic bottles being collected by HomeCycle. This kabayan shared her little way of helping the environment and it has inspired me. So instead of simply throwing our empty plastic bottled water I started collecting them and have dedicated a space at home where I could store them until I reach the minimum quota for collection. * * * As for me and Kokobear, we are (unfortunately) using bottled water in 1.5 liters because this is an easier option for us due to accessibility of our location. And yes, some may say that we can opt for a better option which…
