22 Feb 2019 | Dubai So Far . . .
It’s been a year. Well, technically, 9 months (not counting my 5 months in Cebu)… In this 8 months, our Fridays have always been booked for the community activities and Kokobear’s day off falls on the same day. Thus, it means our time to explore the new city is limited but it hasn’t stop us from enjoying some of its views. We’ve visited a couple of parks, toured the malls: IBN Battuta, Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall. I’ve toured 3 Day-to-Day shops in Rigga, Burjuman and Union. hehehe – that “kuripot” (stingy) in me still love going to this type of shop. And of course, we’ve…

Ten (10) Years, 10 Lessons (as an OFW)
Ten (10) Years, 10 Lessons as an OFW Disclaimer: All opinions are personal and I don’t generalize all. It’s what I learned and that I notice them too often that it definitely left a mark into this OFW life. This is my first passport bucketlist ✓: To have my first passport stamped before it expires. lol 🤣🤣🤣 So, I took my passport in 2005 without any intention of an international travel… only to have one solid ID on my belt whenever a government company would require. But at the back on my mind, I told myself – I want it stamped before it expires. Bucket-list checked! ✓ This is another post…

Abu Dhabi – UAE is my second home♥. Right after leaving Cebu in 2008, this city has become closest to my heart. In fact I have stayed there for 9 years. So I have decided to share this list of 30 places to visit in Abu Dhabi. Note: I have intentionally left the malls, cinemas and cafes not on the list. Read related stories: Abu Dhabi 10 To celebrate my 10th year stay in the UAE, as September is my UAE anniversary month, I’ve come up with this quick, short and sweet list of the places to see/visit in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. How to process a Husband/Wife’s Visa in Dubai UAE
How to process a Husband/Wife’s Visa in Dubai UAE (Guide for First Timers) For 9 years, almost 95% of this blog has tagged Abu Dhabi because I’ve been a resident there for that period… But this year a change has come. As I bid goodbye to 2017, I also waved bye bye to Abu Dhabi and moved to Dubai for a new challenge and chapter of our life (collectively together with Kokobear!) Yes, you read it right, starting now you’ll see more Dubai related blog posts and we are starting now! I spent 5 months back home (in the Philippines) and waited for the transition that both Darrelle and I…

Abu Dhabi : Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Abu Dhabi is the capital city of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and it offers many great attractions to visit! In my first Abu Dhabi 10 blog post, I have shared Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque as one of the free places/site to visit here in Abu Dhabi and this year, we have visited it once again. The last time was I guess 5 or 6 years ago and somehow the place is now highly maintained and probably 99% complete now. (I think a few parking areas are still under construction) How to get there: Basically if you have a car, you could go directly to the place. There is a dedicated…

It’s Eid al-Adha, what’s your plan?
Eid al-Adha is one of the many holidays that UAE and other muslim countries celebrates. There are 2 Eid celebrations: One is Eid al-Fitr that’s the end of the Ramadan season and the upcoming one on 31st August is Eid al-Adha. It is also known as the Big Eid probably because it is usually noted as a long holiday (including the weekends). This Eid is also called as the Sacrifies Feast, in honor of Abraham who willingly sacrificed/offered his son as an act of submission to God’s command. Pretty much the same story with what we Christians have in the holy bible. With the holiday approaching, what’s your plan?!? You’d…

How to get a Police Clearance Certificate in Abu Dhabi (2017) – with 2018 updates
Police Clearance Certificate (PPC) is a good conduct certificate for an individual taken from your home country or overseas if you have stayed in that country for a while. Just like me – been in Abu Dhabi for almost 9 years now. In the Philippines, this is pretty much the version of our NBI Clearance. PPC is usually needed for new employments in government or semi-government companies, so as some other private companies. Some use it for immigration purposes to a few European countries, Australia, 🇦🇺 Ireland, 🇮🇪 and Canada🇨🇦. Getting one here in Abu Dhabi is easy. There are 2 options: Option 1: Online. – You can either log in to MOI…
