Gone are the days when you need to keep watch of appointment schedules on the POLO Dubai website, because finally they have introduced the Online Verification system! You can visit this website to know more (INDIVIDUAL CONTRACT VERIFICATION | Migrant Workers Office in Dubai & Northern Emirates (polodubaiportal.org)) But for this blogpost, I’m sharing my experience with the ONLINE VERIFICATION option! So what should I do? Answer: The UAE Government has granted a “visa hold” option wherein the sponsor can keep his/her dependent’s visa be on hold – rather than cancelling it and re-apply and go through another lengthy process – not to mention the costs involved.…

DOs and DON’Ts in Dubai (or in the UAE)
DOs and DON’Ts in Dubai (or in the UAE) It’s been a long while since I first landed the UAE and in 2018 we’ve moved to Dubai. I’m sharing a few basic dos and don’ts here in Dubai and for the all other emirates (overall UAE) Dress code Do dress modestly, particularly in conservative areas and public places. Shorts and T-shirts are accepted but if you will visit a mosque or church, please wear a modest…

How to Renew your Passport in Dubai PCG 2019
How to Renew your Passport in Dubai PCG (Philippines Consulate General) It’s my first time to renew my passport here in Dubai. Dubai has the consulate, while Abu Dhabi has the embassy since it’s the capital of the UAE. Almost the same process applies. Of course, to start with – the most important step is to book for an appointment. Step 1 – Book for an Appointment. Visit this page for booking your appointment: https://dubaipcg.dfa.gov.ph/services/passports/epassport-appointment-system Make sure that you reserve your slot at least 6-10 months before your passport expires as I have noticed that most of the slots are often fully booked. I did mine in April, which surprised…

NOL Card Recharge thru ADCB App
I rarely use a bus, but in some circumstances I do. So recently I found out that instead of making a queue to re-charge your NOL Card, here is actually an app that provides a faster way to re-charge! But you have to be an ADCB user… (I’m not sure if other banks do have their own app) – as of me ADCB App (from the App Store). Here is the step by step guide to that. Of course you have to download the ADB App first, which looks like this: Photo from : http://adcb.android.informer.com 1. Log-In to your app 2. On the main page are the options: Choose…
